The city of Manchester, New Hampshire is the largest city within the state and the biggest city in northern New England. Northern New England consists of the states of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire. It is New England's 10th largest city and is situated within Hillsborough County along the banks of Merrimack River. This river divides the city of Manchester into the western and eastern sections. Manchester is located near the northern end of the Northeast megalopolis.
